An outdoor living camping is an activity that requires some days away in desolate places. It is meant to bring people who want to break monotony or enjoy life together. Lighting is important since it makes the camping activities easy to be done any time of the day. The particular activity to be undertaken most of the time dictates the mode of lighting that can best be used. This lighting is mostly required at night. Some of the common lighting methods mostly used are:

1. Headlamp: A headlamp is a portable light that is powered by either dry cells battery or gas. They are mostly set at a place where they can light a big place. They are commonly used for security purposes around the camp. They are also essential when setting up the camp tents at night or whilst doing any work that requires use of both hands at the same time like straightening the sleeping equipment.

2. Lantern lamps: They are usually suitable for lighting specific places in the compound. These lamps are available in different types. There are those that use fuel and there are those that use battery to store electric charge. The electric charged lamp is suitable for lighting in the tent. The fuel lantern is not recommendable since it can cause suffocation.

3. Torches: This lighting method is applied under several uses. It is effective to use when visiting the toilet at night. The Torch is convenient to use too while searching for a lost pet. The headlamp and lanterns are not good for search teams and easy strolls because they are not capable of providing strong light beams.

4. Special lights: There is some equipment that requires a certain type of light to be used only. This equipment is like coolers that have their light designed only for that purpose by the brand's company. While parking this equipment, make sure that the camping site will have the power needed to light them.

5. Camp fire: This form of light emanates from the fire meant for heat provision. When one is preparing for camping, you should never forget about carrying the items for kindling the fire. Check out the policies used in the region you are heading for camping. In some places, live fire is forbidden for various reasons like encouraging forest destruction. The forestry department can also ban introduction of timber from other places to avoid spread of wood diseases.
